Position Type: Temporary/Contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift (typically 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM). Flexible scheduling available, including the option of four 10-hour days.

Position Overview
:
Our client is seeking a Temporary Payroll Specialist to support their organization during a transition period. This individual will assume full ownership of the payroll function following a recent departure and will manage payroll processing while company leadership evaluates the long-term structure of the department. This is a standalone payroll position responsible for processing payroll for approximately 370 employees, with a mix of weekly (80%) and bi-weekly (20%) payrolls.

The ideal candidate will have prior payroll experience in a manufacturing or similar environment and strong experience with UKG payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely payroll for approximately 370 employees
• Manage weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles
• Review and validate timesheets and payroll data prior to processing
• Process payroll deductions, garnishments, taxes, and benefit with holdings
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Maintain payroll records and employee payroll data
• Generate payroll reports and reconcile payroll information as needed
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions from employees and management
• Partner with HR and Accounting to support payroll-related initiatives

Requirements

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience preferred
• Experience managing payroll independently from start to finish
• UKG experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Epicor timekeeping is a plus
• Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax reporting, garnishments, and compliance requirements
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting
