Description

Pet Care Customer Service Representative

Kennelwood Pet Resorts – St. Peters

Status: Full-Time
Shift: 1st Shift
Expected Days: Available 7 days a week

Love pets and people?

At Kennelwood Pet Resorts, our Customer Service Representatives are often the first and last people our guests interact with—and they play an important role in making every visit feel welcoming, organized, and easy.

As a Pet Care Customer Service Representative, you’ll help pet parents navigate everything from reservations and check-in to service questions and checkout while making sure important information about each pet gets to the right team. This is a fast-paced, people-focused role for someone who enjoys helping others, stays organized when things get busy, and genuinely loves being around animals.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome pet parents and their pets and create a friendly, professional guest experience.
  • Answer questions about Kennelwood services, reservations, schedules, policies, and general service information.
  • Create, update, and manage reservations for services such as boarding, grooming, training, and Doggie Day Camp.
  • Check pets in and out and make sure care instructions, belongings, feeding information, medications, and service requests are documented accurately.
  • Communicate important guest and pet information to our Pet Care, Grooming, Training, Day Camp, and leadership teams.
  • Maintain accurate guest and pet records in Kennelwood systems.
  • Process payments and review services and charges with guests.
  • Help resolve routine guest questions or concerns and involve leadership when additional support is needed.
  • Keep guest-facing areas clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Support teammates and other departments during busy periods to keep pets and guests moving safely and efficiently through the resort.
  • Help maintain a clean and sanitary facility. At Kennelwood, cleanliness is a team responsibility, and all employees may assist with cleaning and sanitation throughout the resort.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need previous pet-care experience to be successful here—we’ll train you on Kennelwood’s systems, services, and procedures.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Genuinely enjoys helping people and being around animals.
  • Communicates clearly, professionally, and respectfully.
  • Pays attention to details and understands the importance of accurate information.
  • Can juggle guests, phone calls, reservations, transactions, and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stays calm and solution-focused when handling questions or challenging situations.
  • Knows when to ask questions or involve a leader.
  • Is comfortable learning new computer, reservation, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Works well with others and follows through on responsibilities.
  • Is dependable, punctual, and ready to contribute as part of a team.

A high school diploma or GED and previous customer service, hospitality, retail, reception, administrative, or pet-care experience are preferred, but not required.

Schedule & Availability

Kennelwood Pet Resorts cares for pets seven days a week, 365 days a year
, so our Customer Service team must be available when our guests and pets need us.

Schedules may include weekdays, early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak occupancy periods. Availability requirements will depend on whether the position is full‑time, part‑time, or seasonal and the needs of the location.

Requirements

Physical Requirements

This is an active role in a working pet-care environment. Team members should be comfortable:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Moving regularly between guest-facing and operational areas.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or safely handling approximately 40 pounds and occasionally up to approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Safely assisting with dogs of different sizes, breeds, temperaments, and activity levels when needed.
  • Working around barking and other loud noises, animal hair and dander, water, cleaning products, animal waste, bodily fluids, and live animals.
  • Working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions when assisting with pet arrivals, departures, or other responsibilities.
