Position Summary
Are you ready to make a difference in your community? As a Utility Operator
, you will play an essential role ensuring safe and efficient water and wastewater treatment by performing laboratory analyses, maintaining equipment, and troubleshooting operational issues. This position involves working on a shift schedule and requires physical and mental effort, problem‑solving, and adherence to City, State, and Federal regulations.
3rd Shift (11:00pm-7:30am);
Two-week rotation.
Week 1:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
Week 2:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants, including telemetry controls, motors, pumps, and process equipment.
- Monitor and control water treatment, distribution, and wastewater systems.
- Conduct sample collection and analysis, including water treatment, wastewater, and bacteria samples.
- Perform minor and major repairs to plant equipment and facilities.
- Maintain records by calculating and entering data into computerized systems daily.
- Ensure compliance with all City, State, and Federal regulations.
- Monitor and maintain the press building and chemical stock.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer inquiries.
- Maintain a valid State operator's license and participate in safety compliance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
- High School graduate or GED certificate or two (2) years of applicable experience.
- Must have a Class "D" water and wastewater license or obtain within one (1) year.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's license, valid in the state of Missouri.
- Cannot be colorblind.
- Basic computer skills.
