Assistant Manager – Midwest Fitness Partners
Job Summary
As Assistant Manager you will manage day‑to‑day club operations, ensuring performance and objectives are met to provide a “Judgement Free” member experience. You will assist in hiring, firing, and training all employees, lead the team in a positive, motivated manner, focus on employee development, and ensure a financially successful club. You will regularly direct all front desk personnel.
Club Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Daily Staff Management Duties- Assist the Club Manager in creating staffing schedules and ensuring all shifts are covered.
- Lead by example and maintain accountability for direct reports by training and coaching staff to provide exceptional customer service.
- Guide the team through systems and operations to achieve common goals.
- Prepare all HR related forms promptly.
- Resolve employee issues or concerns professionally with the Club Manager.
- Assist in disciplinary/termination activities.
- Provide backup support for absent employees.
- Uphold the integrity and security of staff files and sensitive documents.
- Represent the club by promoting a Judgement Free lifestyle.
- Assist in the training and development of staff, including day‑to‑day coaching.
- Participate in pre‑screening, hiring, onboarding, and recruiting.
- Greet members and guests, providing exceptional customer service.
- Answer phones professionally and assist callers.
- Display and sign up new members, log amenities, and communicate updates.
- Respond to member questions and concerns promptly.
- Process beverage and merchandise purchases on POS systems.
- Assist in emergency medical situations.
- Enforce rules and policies within the facility.
- Detail tanning beds, acrylics, and vents weekly.
- Count and track inventory weekly.
- Run all necessary daily reports.
- Maintain consistent accountability and clear communication among staff.
- Use Datatrak to update barcodes, addresses, and billing or payment queries.
- Submit refund proposals properly.
- Create new memberships.
- Maintain the integrity and security of member documents and sensitive information.
- Keep front desk and lobby clean and orderly.
- Perform regular facility cleaning and upkeep.
- Ensure equipment and tanning units are cleaned daily.
- Maintain clean, stocked, and clutter‑free restrooms with a routine schedule.
- Accurately complete daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.
- Report repairs to the Director of Operations and maintenance technicians promptly.
- Hold the team accountable for cleaning lists and assigned equipment.
- Order club supplies within a specific budget based on club requirements.
- Track key performance indicators such as guest counts, cancellations, and information calls.
- Manage marketing efforts by ensuring staff awareness and training on promotions.
- Assist in completing recorded information call inspections.
- Participate in growth and development opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and senior leadership.
- One year of customer service experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- CPR certification required.
- Superior problem‑solving skills.
- Exceptional leadership and diplomacy skills.
- Represent PFMW core values at all times.
- Willingness to travel for training and support other locations.
- Flexibility for overtime, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Continual standing and walking.
- Continual talking in person or on phone.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Frequent climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, pulling, and grasping.
- Never place oneself under equipment.
