Overview

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital serves families in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties. It provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including:

• Siteman Cancer Center
• Breast Health and Women’s Center
• Cardiology Center
• Neurosurgery Center
• Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center

The hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Level II stroke certified, with outpatient services like physical therapy, sleep lab, and cardio-pulmonary rehab.

Under the direction of the manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a unit on a designated shift. Performs direct patient care as needed and functions as a clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates, and documents the nursing process of the assigned unit as needed.

• Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into ambulatory care. Critically assesses patient data to proactively mitigate changes in condition and establishes consults with interprofessional teams as appropriate.
• Leads development and implementation of complex care plans with goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver, following nursing standards.
• Utilizes and champions evidence-based practices, participates in journal clubs, supports practice changes, and disseminates new knowledge.
• Explores opportunities to advance nursing practice and supports community health initiatives.
• Analyzes practice standards gaps and provides feedback to improve patient safety and care quality.
• Evaluates patient and family experience, adjusting care to improve satisfaction and outcomes.
