Position Summary
Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Trailer Mechanic in Saint Peters, MO! The Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 7 - 8 trailers and will operate vehicles and test all working parts in various functions to ensure proper operation.
** POTENTIAL SIGN-ON BONUS UP TO $2500**
Compensation:
Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday!
Pay: $24-$34/hr, depending on experience
Shift: Sunday
- Thursday 2:00 PM- 10:30 PM

- Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
- Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare the safety documentation required
- Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
- Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on the vehicle
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Perform other duties as required
- Must have at least 2 years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
- Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind the cab using normally available footholds and handholds
- Must provide own hand tools
- Perform DOT inspections
- Basic computer skills
- Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
- Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
- Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
- Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
- Ability to move and position heavy objects
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
