Our client is a growing, privately held organization within the logistics industry. They are seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing Accounting team. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative Accounting team, gain meaningful exposure to the full accounting cycle, and play a hands‑on role in the company's continued growth.
Salary/Hourly Rate:$65k - $75k DOE
Position Overview:This Staff Accountant position is ideal for someone with an Accounting degree, and audit/public accounting experience is highly preferred. This is a very hands‑on position with significant exposure to the general ledger, journal entries, bank reconciliations, cash receipts, transaction coding, and day‑to‑day financial statement activity. The successful candidate will be someone who is analytical, naturally curious, and eager to understand the business behind the numbers.
Responsibilitiesof the Staff Accountant:
- Prepare and post journal entries and assist with general ledger activity.
- Perform bank account reconciliations and research discrepancies.
- Process and code accounting transactions.
- Review and code transactions and receipts through Ramp.
- Assist with cash receipts and related accounting activity.
- Support day-to-day financial statement preparation and reporting.
- Help maintain accurate, complete accounting records.
- Work closely with the Senior Accountant and accounting leadership on various accounting projects.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and questions.
- Gain hands‑on exposure to the company's accounting processes and business operations.
- Assist with month‑end and other close‑related activities.
- Support preparation for future audit activity.
- Take on additional responsibilities as knowledge of the business and accounting function develops or as needed.
- Approximately 2 - 3 years of professional accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
- Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Ability to learn new accounting systems and processes quickly.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent follow‑through and a willingness to work hands‑on in the details.
- Strong professional judgment and common‑sense approach to accounting.
- Ability to work fully onsite in a collaborative team environment.
- Public accounting or audit experience.
- Experience working with Net Suite.
- Experience with Ramp or similar expense management platforms.
- Experience supporting financial statement preparation.
- Exposure to audit processes.
- Experience in a growing or evolving accounting environment.
- Strong desire for career advancement and increased responsibility.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
