Reporting to:
Center Director

• Teach SSP (Structure/Speaking Practice), Vocabulary Enrichment, Reading/Writing, LTC (Language Technology Center) and Skills Enhancement Classes as assigned.
• Prepare lesson, exercises and tests.
• Test, evaluate and counsel students regarding their classroom performance.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Coordinate instruction, attendance records and evaluation with other teachers.
• Know and adhere to Center and Company policy and procedures, and communicate local policy to Associate Instructors.
• Complete administrative paperwork as required or requested.
• Maintain performance and attendance records.
• Maintain Center resource materials and files.
• Observe other teachers, as suggested by the AD, for professional development and be observed in all facets of the program.
• Participate in administrative meetings and professional development activities.
• Participate in the employee evaluation process (classroom observations and follow-up discussions and performance appraisal).
• Provide Associate Instructors with assistance.
• Develop and/or refine teaching materials at the local level.
• Participate in activities during the Instructor's scheduled class hours and, when requested, disseminate information about after-class activities.
• Contribute to the maintenance of neat classrooms, a neat staff workroom and staff lounge.
• Substitute in emergency situations for less than a full day when no reasonable alternatives are available to the AD.

• Bachelor’s or better in English or related field.
• 6 months of ESL teaching experience for those who do not have an MA in TESOL or CELTA.
• Preferred:
  Certificate or better in CELTA, TESOL, Masters in Applied Linguistics or TESOL.
• All ELS employees must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

$20.00-$26.00 per instructional unit based on education, credentials and experience.
