Job Summary

The Operations Development Director at Jabil, Inc. is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving continuous improvement and innovation across global manufacturing and supply chain operations. This position focuses on optimizing processes, implementing advanced technologies, and fostering operational excellence to achieve Jabil's business objectives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Strategic Operations Leadership:
    Develop and execute comprehensive operational strategies aligned with Jabil's long-term business goals, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, quality improvement, and scalability.
  • Process Optimization & Innovation:
    Identify, analyze, and re‑engineer existing operational processes across various manufacturing sites and supply chain functions. Lead initiatives to implement best practices, lean manufacturing principles, and advanced automation solutions.
  • Technology & Digital Transformation:
    Evaluate, pilot, and deploy cutting‑edge operational technologies, including AI, IoT, robotics, and advanced analytics, to enhance productivity, visibility, and decision‑making within Jabil's global footprint.
  • Global Project Management:
    Oversee and manage complex, cross‑functional operational development projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Performance Measurement & Reporting:
    Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational development initiatives, monitor progress, analyze data, and provide regular, insightful reports to senior leadership.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    Mentor, coach, and develop a team of operations development professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Stakeholder

    Collaboration:

    Partner effectively with various internal departments (e.g., Engineering, IT, Supply Chain, Business Units) and external vendors to drive operational excellence and achieve shared objectives.
  • Risk Management & Compliance:
    Identify potential operational risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure all operational development initiatives comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and Jabil's internal policies.
Job Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical), Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related technical field. Master's degree (e.g., MBA, MS in Engineering) is highly preferred.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in operations management, manufacturing engineering, or supply chain leadership within a complex, global manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics manufacturing services (EMS) or a related high‑volume industry.
  • Leadership & Management:
    Proven track record of leading and developing high‑performing teams, managing complex projects, and influencing stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Technical Expertise:
    Deep understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred), process automation, industrial engineering principles, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Analytical

    Skills:

    Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities, with proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Communication:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
