Overview

JOB – Mechanical Design Engineer (Packaging Machinery)

LOCATION – Clearwater, FL

TERM – Direct Hire

SALARY – $90,000 - $110,000 per annum

My client – an industry leading OEM of packaging machinery solutions for use across a number of industries – are on the lookout for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support their growing team.

$80,000.00/yr - $/yr

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years' experience in mechanical design within the machinery manufacturing or related industries.
• Expert proficiency with Solid Works, particularly in sheet metal design and complex assembly modeling.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, bending, welding, and general fabrication.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

• Designing and developing sheet metal components and assemblies for packaging machinery.
• Producing detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and documentation using Solid Works.
• Collaborating with manufacturing, R&D, and purchasing teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective designs.
• Supporting prototype builds and resolving design issues through the manufacturing process.
• Improving existing machinery designs to enhance functionality, manufacturability, and efficiency.
• Participating in design reviews and project meetings.

This position is predominantly office-based, with occasional visits to suppliers and manufacturing partners as required.
