Talent Consultant Group is partnered with a civil engineering firm that is looking to add a Director of Water Resources to their growing team in St. Petersburg, FL.
Our client is a niche engineering firm that provides consulting services in water resources and civil engineering to government agencies. They assist communities in developing, prioritizing, and implementing Capital Improvement Programs that emphasize multi-objective management solutions for their watersheds and built environment.
Responsibilities- Leads a project team of hydrologist, water resource engineers and designers for the delivery of projects
- Oversees quality control and project management
- Provides support in scope development and project cost controls
- Leads in the preparation of technical reports and engineering specifications
- Successfully delivers projects to the satisfaction of our clients and key stakeholders
- Motivates, supports, and guides staff to successfully perform their roles, improve their skills, and act as an integral member of the entire project team.
- Tracks opportunities with existing and new clients, prepares proposals and win strategies
- Develops new business opportunities, responsible for client revenues and relationships
- Participates in professional associations and takes leadership roles in the industry
- Conducts technical presentations
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering discipline
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida or PE with the ability to gain reciprocity
- 12+ years of competency in the field of stormwater and utilities engineering
- Prior project management experience, and track record of advancement
- Prior business development and client service management experience
- Strong understanding of project delivery tools and metrics
- Proven leadership skills
- A proven history leading and managing project teams to successfully meet client expectations
- Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering
- Prior experience in the Tampa Bay area or Central Florida working with local government agencies or FDOT is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communications, self-motivated, and team-oriented
- Strong organizational skills and technical problem solving
- A self-starter with innovative ideas and understanding of market conditions
- Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and participating in diverse teams
