Event Attendant​/Cashier

Overview

• Deliver quality customer service and receive payment for parking services.
• Control traffic at entrances and exits and facilitate the flow of traffic through the gate.
• Assist customers, answer questions, and direct them to available parking spaces.
• Count vehicles on location throughout the shift and count “bank” money at the beginning of the shift.
• Write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors that violate garage policies.
• Patrol transient and reserved parking levels on foot or in customized motor carts, if applicable.
• Provide assistance to customers who have forgotten where they parked their vehicle.
• Give directions and be knowledgeable of surroundings to inform customers of various locations in the city.
• Report accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards, and any unusual occurrence to the Facility or Senior Manager.
• Communicate debris, water, oil spills, and etc. to Facility or Senior Manager.
• Have a thorough knowledge of major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area of the lot.
• Ensure successful customer interactions.
• Collect cash and/or coupons and maintain security of cash.
• Make change and issue receipts or tickets to customers for each transaction.
• Verify shift transactions against money on hand and complete cashier shift report.

• Less than High School education or one month related experience, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or week‑ends may be required.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record if required to drive a company vehicle.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one‑on‑one situations.
• Mathematical skills: add, subtract, two‑digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s using units of American money.
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in complete uniform at all times.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle cash and equipment; work outside in varying weather conditions (cold, rainy, snowy, harsh, hot, humid).
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Salary range: $15.00 per hour.
