. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovative company and lead the build-out of our new Tampa office
.

Location: Tampa, FL - Onsite

We are seeking a highly skilled and entrepreneurial Head of Finance & Operations to lead our financial and operational strategies while also building out our new service division. This hybrid role combines controller-level financial leadership with general management responsibilities
, including sales support and office build-out. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, operational expertise, and a passion for building teams and driving growth.

• Manage Worklio’s internal books and financial operations to start, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Build and lead the Tampa finance team: hire, train, and mentor accountants and bookkeepers.
• Support sales by joining client calls and positioning our new accounting and CFO services.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Develop and implement financial and operational strategies that align with company growth.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, payroll, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive operational efficiency through improved systems and processes.
• Provide financial reporting and insights to executive leadership for decision-making.
• Manage office operations and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred; MBA a plus).
• 8–12 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Background in construction and/or hospitality accounting highly desirable.
• Experience in industries typically served by PEOs a plus.
• Strong client-facing skills; comfortable presenting on sales calls.
• Proven ability to build and scale teams and offices from the ground up.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
