Job Description & How to Apply Below
Our client is building the next generation of investing for millions of users worldwide. As Controller you will own the integrity of our financials as we scale a public, high-growth fintech platform. Your work will give leadership, investors, and regulators a clear, timely picture of performance so we can keep expanding products and markets with confidence.
Highlights- Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close packages within 8 business days, including GAAP financials, SOX-ready controls, and board-ready variance analysis.
- Build and maintain a scalable close process that supports 30%+ annual transaction growth without adding headcount in the first 18 months.
- Lead the annual audit and quarterly reviews so that we receive an unqualified opinion and zero material weaknesses.
- Implement and optimize ERP and consolidation tools to cut manual journal entries by 40% within the first year.
- Partner with FP&A and business leaders to produce rolling 13-week cash forecasts and monthly management reporting that drive capital allocation decisions.
- Ensure SEC, PCAOB, and FINRA reporting is filed on time and error‑free, including 10-K, 10-Q, and related XBRL.
- Hire, coach, and retain a high‑performing accounting team of 8–12 while documenting processes that survive employee turnover.
- You will report to the CFO and work closely with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and Legal. You will have a dedicated team, modern cloud ERP (Net Suite or similar), and budget authority for systems, consultants, and professional development. The role is based in our St. Petersburg, Florida headquarters with hybrid flexibility.
- CPA with 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years as Controller or Assistant Controller in a public or late-stage growth company.
- Hands‑on experience owning the close, audit, and SEC reporting for a high-volume transaction business (fintech, brokerage, or similar preferred).
- Proven track record implementing or significantly improving ERP, consolidation, and SOX controls.
- Ability to hire, develop, and lead teams while remaining personally involved in complex accounting judgments.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition, and financial instruments; familiarity with broker‑dealer or payment‑processor accounting a plus.
- Join a publicly traded, high-growth fintech that already serves millions of users and continues to expand globally.
- Direct impact on capital markets communication and strategic decision‑making at the C‑suite and board level.
- Modern tech stack, competitive compensation, and equity in a company that has already raised significant capital and gone public.
- Collaborative culture that values accuracy, speed, and continuous process improvement over bureaucracy.
- If you are ready to own the financial backbone of a scaling public fintech, help us keep building the future of investing.
