Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) in St Petersburg, Florida, is recruiting an additional pediatric clinical geneticist. Experience with and/or interest in caring for patients with pediatric metabolic diseases would be preferred but not required. We have a collegial, cohesive clinical genetics team consisting of three pediatric geneticists (including two metabolic), three certified genetic counselors and a registered clinical pediatric dietitian (metabolic).

The ability to work collaboratively with the entire multidisciplinary team is essential.

The Clinical Genetics program at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive evaluation and medical management to guide the treatment of children with genetic conditions. We provide genetic counseling, testing and follow-up care for patients with a range of genetic and metabolic genetic conditions. We treat children of all ages, from newborn to age 21, and can assist our patients in transitioning to adult care when appropriate.

JHACH is a 259-bed teaching hospital ranked by US News & World Report as a “Top 50 Children’s Hospital” in 6 pediatric specialties ). We are also ranked as the #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida. The hospital is home to a 97-bed, Level IV NICU, 28-bed pediatric blood and marrow transplant unit and a 22-bed CVICU.
We have several genetic multidisciplinary clinics including cardiac genetics, neurocutaneous disorders, 22q deletion syndrome and Turner syndrome. The metabolic genetics program is currently in development. JHACH is home to a CAP accredited biorepository and our program has hired an in-house biochemical laboratory geneticist.

JHACH is the only US hospital outside the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. location that is part of the Johns Hopkins Medicine system. We stand at the forefront of discovery, leading innovative research to cure and prevent childhood diseases while training the next generation of pediatric experts.

In addition to providing clinical care, participation in research will be strongly encouraged.
Qualified candidates are eligible for an academic appointment at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (academic rank is open and commensurate with experience).
