The Credentialing, GME & Compliance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating provider credentialing and enrollment, supporting graduate medical education (GME) and resident activities, and tracking compliance‑related training and documentation. This role ensures that providers, residents, and staff meet required credentialing, training, and compliance standards by maintaining accurate records, coordinating audits and training, and serving as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

This position does not establish compliance policy but supports implementation and documentation under the direction of leadership.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Coordinate initial and ongoing credentialing and re‑credentialing for physicians and advanced practice providers with hospitals, facilities, and payers.
  • Prepare, submit, and track payer enrollment and revalidation applications.
  • Maintain credentialing files and monitor expiration dates for licensure, DEA, board certification, malpractice coverage, and hospital privileges.
  • Serve as liaison with hospital medical staff offices, payers, and internal departments.
  • Respond to credentialing‑related audits and information requests.
  • Coordinate onboarding, rotation scheduling, and offboarding of residents.
  • Serve as primary administrative point of contact between the practice and affiliated residency programs and hospital GME departments.
  • Track resident documentation, training requirements, and evaluations.
  • Assist with GME reporting, communications, and administrative support.
  • Track and monitor required compliance training, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other mandatory education for providers and staff.
  • Maintain compliance training records and completion status.
  • Coordinate annual compliance‑related training schedules and reminders.
  • Assist leadership with maintaining compliance documentation and readiness.
  • Coordinate annual coding and billing audits with external vendors or internal stakeholders.
  • Collect and organize documentation needed for audits and reviews.
  • Track findings, corrective action plans, and follow‑up items as directed.
  • Support preparation for regulatory reviews or accreditation‑related inquiries.
  • Maintain databases and tracking tools related to credentialing, compliance, and GME.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for leadership as requested.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive provider, employee, and patient‑related information.
  • Support special projects related to compliance, credentialing, or education.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of experience in healthcare administration, credentialing, compliance support, or medical staff services.
  • Working knowledge of provider credentialing, payer enrollment, and healthcare compliance concepts.
  • Strong organizational, tracking, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare administrative systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and communicate effectively.
Preferred
  • Experience in an academic or teaching medical practice.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, OSHA, and healthcare compliance training requirements.
  • Knowledge of GME processes and residency program coordination.
  • Experience coordinating coding and billing audits.
