Patient Service Specialist

A Patient Service Specialist will play a very key role in the success of the facility and the patient’s overall experience. Strict adherence to organizational protocols and values is a must. The role is fast‑paced, highly visible, and critical to providing non‑hospital‑based emergency care that reduces ER visits and hospital admissions.

• enter new patients into the patient database
• verify insurance
• obtain authorization from insurance companies
• prepare patient charts
• scheduling patient appointments
• collect copays and contracted rates from patients
• coordinate admissions
• audit charts for completeness and obtain missing information from the clinical team
• follow information security policies and management system, contribute to effectiveness, and actively report on performance

Experience
: 0 Years

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Active BLS certification strongly preferred
• Previous patient services experience in a medical office setting preferred
• Must successfully pass a Level 2 background screen and drug test
• Ability to perform duties expected for an active role in a busy office environment (standing, walking, teaching, public speaking, pulling, pushing, lifting, etc.)
• Ability to use all necessary office equipment (faxes, copiers, computers, telephones, etc.)
• Able to stand and work up to 12 hours in a day
• Legibly write English, clearly speak English, and read English proficiently
