Shampoo Porter

Summary

Responsible for keeping carpets in guest rooms, hotel public areas, and administrative offices clean and spot free. Maintain a schedule to ensure carpets receive deep cleaning on a monthly basis.

• Shampoo guest room carpets and hotel public areas.
• Ensures that all carpeted areas are free of spots.
• Shampoos carpet in administrative offices on a monthly basis.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive and professional image. Make eye contact, smile and greet guest when seen.
• Report any damage and/or maintenance deficiencies in need of repair to the supervisor on duty.
• Other duties as needed.

• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management in English in both written and verbal form.
• Must be able to use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces and utilize personal protective equipment in accordance with OSHA hazard communication standard. Ability to use machinery to clean carpets.
• Must have complete knowledge of and comply with, all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.

Work may require evening, early morning, holidays and week end schedules.

Must be able to bend, squat and kneel throughout assigned shift.

Must be able to occasionally reach above head in performing job duties.

Able to push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Requires regular and predictable attendance.

Requires working in noisy, smoky areas and may be exposed to extreme heat and cold.
