We’re partnering with a purpose-driven non-profit to find an HR Manager who thrives on variety, values connection, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. In this role, you won’t just “do HR” - you’ll shape how the organization attracts, supports, and grows its people.
As the organization’s only HR resource, you’ll be trusted to handle the full spectrum of people operations, balancing the practical (policies, payroll support, compliance) with the personal (employee engagement, culture-building, and leadership support). This is a great fit for someone who can navigate details without losing sight of the bigger picture, and who finds meaning in knowing their work directly supports a mission.
Basepay range
$65,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr
What You’ll Be Doing- Hiring with
Purpose:
Lead recruiting and onboarding to bring in the right talent, and set them up for success from day one. - Building a Great Employee
Experience:
Serve as a go-to resource for employees, helping managers and team members navigate questions and challenges. - Keeping the Wheels Turning: Oversee benefits, policies, and procedures while acting as backup for payroll to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Making it Official: Maintain and update HR documentation so everything runs smoothly and stays in line with federal, state, and local laws.
- Fostering Culture: Partner with leadership to build an inclusive, collaborative, and engaged workplace where people feel valued.
- Strategic Partnering: Offer insights and recommendations that align people practices with organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (HR certification a plus).
- At least 5 years of broad-based HR experience - stand-alone or small-team experience is a plus.
- A solid understanding of employment laws and HR compliance.
- Experience managing multiple priorities with professionalism and adaptability.
- Familiarity with payroll systems or a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills and a people-first mindset.
- Non-profit or mission-driven experience is a plus.
