Principal Data Scientist (Gen AI)

SGS Technologies is a software development and staffing company leveraging two decades of experience to deliver cutting‑edge IT solutions.

We are hiring a Principal Data Scientist (Gen AI) for a 12+ month contract (potential full‑time conversion) ersburg, FL 33716 or Denver, CO 80246. This role is W2 only for U.S. citizens or green card holders.

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced decision support systems using data analytics, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
• Drive Generative AI initiatives within the Data Science space, focusing on NLP and AI model creation.
• Own end‑to‑end projects from requirement gathering through production deployment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver business value.

• Senior‑level Data Science professional with 3+ years of recent, hands‑on experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL

• Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques and a focus on Generative AI.
• Experience building models that delivered tangible business value.
• Experience deploying models into production environments.
• Comfortable with Unix scripting and big‑data technologies.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with six years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Contract (potential full‑time conversion).

Hybrid onsite schedule (2–3 days per week) at an on‑site client location in St. Petersburg, FL or Denver, CO. Fully remote candidates will not be considered.

Mid‑Senior level.
