Overview

Dynasty Financial Partners is actively seeking a proactive and forward-thinking Cybersecurity Specialist to become an integral part of our expanding technology team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within our security operations team, contributing to strengthening our services and safeguarding internal systems and infrastructure. In this role you will provide training, expert advice, deploy effective security measures, and manage comprehensive security solutions, all to ensure the highest level of protection for both our operations and exclusive network partner firms.

Location

This dynamic role, based in our St. Petersburg, Florida office, provides a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our cybersecurity efforts and will report directly to Dynasty’s SVP, IT. Responsibilities
  • Manage security training programs and email phishing campaigns.
  • Stay up to date with relevant statutory, regulatory, and legal related to Dynasty, the financial services industry, and the network.
  • Stay up to date of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, providing guidance to enhance the organization's security posture.
  • Create and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations on cybersecurity metrics, incidents, and risk assessments to management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze alerts from security tools, logs, networks, and systems to identify and investigate suspicious or malicious activity.
  • Conduct internal risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and prioritize security vulnerabilities.
  • Provide incident response support, including managing and resolving security incidents.
  • Coordinate, and manage security tools/controls, ensuring the effective detection and prevention of cyber threats.
  • Write and maintain documentation and detailed diagrams outlining security systems capabilities and processes.
  • Mentor and guide other members of the Technology team and company, fostering a culture of continuous learning, open feedback loop, and skill development.
  • Ability to work through a ticketing system.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with a focus on training and phishing.
  • Proficiency with phishing simulation platforms.
  • Experience with leading cybersecurity tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience as a member of a team to leading incident response efforts effectively.
  • Solid understanding of common cybersecurity frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Critical Security Controls.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with conducting penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
  • Proficiency in relevant scripting, querying, and programming languages (e.g., Python, Power Shell, KQL) for automation and analysis.
  • Able to excel in a collaborative team environment with open communications.
  • Additional experience with incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management is a plus.
  • Experience with ITIL standards and general helpdesking is a plus.
  • Experience and understanding of standard employee productivity suites—Microsoft Office/Outlook, mobile device configurations and support is a plus.
  • Experience and understanding of networking principles is a plus.
  • Experience with in a Financial Services institution is a plus.
