The Senior Dev Ops Engineer manages the Dev Ops process for Valpak Clipp, working to improve collaboration between development and operations teams. The primary responsibility is to design and implement Dev Ops strategies that ensure software is delivered efficiently. The engineer works with application developers to automate and accelerate testing, release, and deployment of applications into runtime environments quickly and reliably.

A background in development, operations, and full‑stack implementations is required.

• Build and maintain infrastructure systems that support timely delivery of high‑quality changes to production, enabling self‑serve reversions by SLO owners and aiding root‑cause analysis for change failures.
• Collaborate with software developers, quality assurance engineers, and IT professionals to guarantee smooth deployment, automation, and management of software infrastructure.
• Coach and influence others to raise the craft of Dev Ops.
• Own observability, monitoring, and alerting.
• Identify, investigate, and assist in remediation of security risks.
• Monitor, identify, and support delivery of opportunities for performance and cost optimization.
• Provide guidance on policies and procedures to support a high level of availability.
• Manage and enhance cloud infrastructures.
• Automate software deployment, configuration, and upkeep processes.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, then utilize them to enhance the software infrastructure.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or software engineering. Master’s degree a plus.
• 5+ years of Dev Ops/SRE experience on large‑scale consumer‑facing cloud‑hosted e‑commerce properties.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, demonstrated by driving successful large‑scale infrastructure projects spanning multiple teams.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS ECS, Terraform, Docker, WAFs, Data Dog, and AWS IAM.
• Excellent proficiency with the command line and GNU/Linux.
• High level of familiarity with security and networking best practices.
• Data‑driven experience planning, delivering, and validating improvements to scalability, costs, and performance optimizations.
