Information Technology Analyst – Assistant Security Coordinator

This position is responsible for serving as an assistant Information Security Coordinator, ensuring implementation and management of security protocols. Strong communication skills are a must. This position involves assessing risks, responding to and reporting security incidents and developing security procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, coordinating, and providing classroom or virtual instruction to staff on information security, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and cybersecurity.
  • Responding to and reporting security incidents.
  • Developing and maintaining local security procedures.
  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing and monitoring any corrective actions.
  • Performing user access reviews and consulting with supervisors on appropriate access levels for staff.

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

  • Knowledge of information security policies and cybersecurity threats.
  • Skill with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Skill in providing training in individual and group settings.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to travel throughout Pinellas County.

Minimum Qualifications
:

  • 1-3 years of experience in information security risk management.
  • 1 year of experience providing training.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Other Desirable Qualifications
:

  • 1 or more years of experience providing training on information security.
  • 1 or more years of experience writing information security procedures.
  • 1 or more years of experience with auditing.
