Regular Full-Time Onsite, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM ET
This position is responsible for:
Planning, scheduling, monitoring, and participating in the day-to-day general maintenance and repair of Salvation Army buildings, Corps and quarters, grounds, and equipment. This position performs daily maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Plans, prioritizes, schedules, assigns, participates, and supervises the work of staff performing maintenance and custodial work.
- Participate in repair work daily and ensures all equipment remains in proper working order and compliance with standard operating procedures and safety standards.
- Supervises, participates in, and monitors the preventive maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, utility equipment and appliances.
- Supervises and monitors all contracted maintenance services.
- Operates a Salvation Army vehicle to pick up and/or deliver materials.
- Administers a departmental budget.
- Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing and some climbing.
- Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, heat, or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

- Two years course work from a vocational or technical school in heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical and construction trades, AND
- Three years progressively responsible experience performing skilled maintenance and repair work for commercial buildings and grounds with six months in a supervisory capacity, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must be cleared by Local Law Enforcement, State of Florida Dept. of Children and Families, FBI Level II background screens and credit checks. More information regarding Level II background checks can be found here:
- Valid state driver's License with approved driving record.
