Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Workforce Planning is responsible for managing and directing the staff and activities of the Staffing Optimization (SO). The Senior Manager is responsible for the operations of the SO, develops essential policies and procedures, and implements routine processes, functions, reports, and practices. This position partners with PI, CSG, CT&I, division and hospital leadership and finance to achieve best practices in maintaining standardization and adherence to company guidance for the maintenance and configuration and best practice application of Scheduling & Staffing applications and scheduling/staffing best practices across all hospital operations including implementation of new technologies.

The Senior Manager establishes a culture of service excellence and partnership with internal and external customers. This position is responsible for the successful transition of new facilities into SO operations.

Responsibilities
  • Performs the hiring, developing and managing of the SO staff.
  • Ensures role clarity among and between all roles in the SO organization.
  • Establishes relationships and is viewed as an advisor to hospital leadership and Division Performance Improvement resources regarding workforce management.
  • Collaborates with hospital leadership and division Performance Improvement resources in the establishment of standard configurations and process efficiencies to ensure Staffing & Scheduling Applications are maintained in accordance with division and company guidelines, and assists these resources in the monitoring of key indicators associated with staffing and scheduling.
  • Responsible for developing quality measurements and reports for internal and external customers.
  • Provides oversight in the research of issues and responses back to the facilities on the resolution of issues, under the direction of the AVP. Provides oversight and assists in the research and responses on Incident Reports.
  • Is the knowledge source for systems used in the organization such as Staffing & Scheduling, Timpani, Kronos Alerts, ISAS and any new staffing and scheduling software or applications.
