$30.00/hr - $37.00/hr

Space Machine & Engineering (SME) is currently seeking a Quality Inspector to measure and ensure mechanical assemblies conform to engineering drawings.

7:00am-3:30pm shift, Mon-Fri. Overtime as required.

• Perform inspection of mechanical assemblies and sub-components using a variety of precision measuring equipment.
• Proficient in interpreting complex engineering drawings, including feature controls, tolerances, and functional requirements.
• Verify mechanical dimensions to customer prints and flow downs.
• Collaborate with operations on a daily basis to ensure product conformance.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
• Operate equipment safely in accordance with SME standards.
• Complete all production and quality paperwork as required.
• Compile digital packages as required by customer.

Strong communication skills. Able to work as part of a team and independently.

• Experience inspecting machined parts with tolerances of ±0.0005”
• Experience inspecting components and assemblies.
• Able to work additional hours when required.
• U. S. citizenship required or permanent Resident card.

• 3 to 5 years of experience is required.
• Strong understanding of AS9100, ITAR, CUI, CMMC, DPAS, DFARS requirements.
• CMM programming and operation.
• The ability to read and interpret the requirements of drawings GD&T.
• Experience in the use of mechanical measuring tools (electronic height gauges, calipers, gauge pins, etc.).
• Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines.
• Ability to develop and maintain a positive collaborative relationship with peers and colleagues.

• Regularly required to stand, sit, and view parts through a microscope and borescope.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
