Summary:

Prepares and applies protective coatings to Facility and Facility Site equipment, machinery, and structures to prevent corrosion and deterioration, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Essential Functions:

* Prepares surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primers or sealers.
* Applies paint, varnish, epoxy, or other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
* Mixes and matches paint to required specifications, ensuring proper consistency and color.
* Operates and maintains painting tools and equipment, including spray guns, compressors, and safety gear.
* Follows all safety procedures and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Inspects painted surfaces for quality and touch-ups as needed.
* Works from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts to reach high or difficult areas.
* Maintains a clean and organized work area and properly disposes of hazardous materials.
* Assists in the maintenance and repair of painting equipment and tools.
* Completes required documentation and reports related to painting activities.
* Works overtime and varied shifts as required. Education/

Experience:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
* Certification in industrial painting or coatings application is desirable.
* 2 years of experience in industrial or commercial painting, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
* Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and coating systems.
* Familiarity with safety regulations and hazardous material handling.

Certifications and Licenses:

Certifications as required by Local, State, Federal, Environmental and/or Health/Safety Regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, NACE).Supervision Received:

Performs job duties within prescribed standards. Minimal supervision necessary once tasks are mastered.
