Description

The Food Access Coordinator is responsible for managing and expanding St. Pete Free Clinic’s direct food distribution programs to ensure equitable access to nutritious food for individuals and families who face barriers to traditional pantry services. This role works closely with community partners, volunteers, and internal teams to deliver services that are neighbor-centered and aligned with the organization’s best practices.

  • 8:00am – 6:30 pm four days per week
Position Responsibilities
  • Facilitates direct distribution programs, including Mobile Pantry, drive-through distributions, and satellite sites.
  • Develops and maintains schedules, routes, and logistics for all direct distribution activities.
  • Oversees logistics for transporting food and materials between SPFC facilities and event locations, maintaining accuracy and safety standards.
  • Plans, publicizes, and sets up drive-thru and indoor events, oversee and assist with distribution, break down and clean up upon completion.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, attractive environment for staff, volunteers, and clients.
  • Plans and coordinates small to large volunteer groups for food distribution events and activities.
  • Communicates volunteer needs and schedules in collaboration with the Volunteer Services team.
  • Provides on-site leadership and support during events to ensure smooth operations and a positive volunteer experience.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between SPFC and external partners, including community organizations, volunteers, and local agencies.
  • Builds and sustains strong relationships to enhance program reach and effectiveness. Provides support to Program Director in coordination, establishment and expansion of food access partnerships.
  • Coordinates with warehouse, volunteer services, and communications teams to ensure smooth execution of events and distributions.
  • Monitors program performance and implements improvements to enhance accessibility and client experience.
  • Ensures compliance with food safety standards, organizational policies, and grant requirements.
  • Identifies underserved communities and develops strategies to increase access to food resources.
  • Assists with warehouse, Food Bank, or other program functionality and duties as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Database experience or knowledge preferable.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience in warehouse operations, social service programs, retail, or combination of education and experience.
  • Have a valid, clean Florida driver’s license.
  • Ability to drive cargo van and/or 16ft truck is Required
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, and equipment used in warehouse operation preferred.
  • Possess or obtain food handler certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds or more and have ability and stamina to repeatedly lift 10-30 pounds daily.
  • Ability to stand for 6-8 hours.
  • Ability to drive for program activities.

    Ability to work in a combination of warehouse and outdoor setting.
  • Ability to operate motorized warehouse equipment
