The Leasing Professional is a dynamic role that influences the community’s first impression with current and future residents. The Leasing Professional is responsible for coordinating the community’s marketing, leasing, and renewal strategies to achieve occupancy, revenue, and resident retention goals by performing all activities related to leasing to new residents, providing resident satisfaction throughout the term of the lease, and securing resident lease renewals.
ThingsYou Will Do
- Complete outbound new lead follow-up to prospective renters via text, email, and phone, focusing on engaging prospects in leasing conversations at the community level.
- Be the on-site tour guide, showing potential residents the community’s amenity areas and model homes, and highlighting the benefits that will make them want to call the community home.
- Think safety first and ensure that unsafe conditions are corrected promptly in apartments, along tour paths, in office spaces, and common areas.
- Build lasting relationships by helping residents and future residents experience what better living truly means.
- Coordinate move‑ins and move‑outs with onsite staff, residents, and maintenance teams.
- Assist resident retention by providing ongoing customer service after move‑in.
- Maintain the property waiting list and update records and reports in accordance with policy, applicable housing programs, and HUD/Agency regulations.
- Take pride in the apartment community; visually inspect and address areas of concern, keep the community clean, and report service needs to maintenance.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports as needed.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of the local market and competitive set.
- Process work orders, package collection, and support day‑to‑day operations to ensure resident satisfaction.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Community Manager.
- One or more years’ experience in property management, sales, or customer service.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Professional appearance and presentation.
- Physical ability to walk the property, including climbing stairs; to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, push, pull, reach, and carry supplies.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of Yardi or other industry software preferred.
