Job Description Summary

As part of a 24/7 proprietary security team, this role provides a safe and secure environment at Raymond James. Responsibilities include physical security, electronic access control, visitor management, CCTV, and life safety system operations. The incumbent interacts with associates and guests, upholding a Service 1st approach and concierge‑style hospitality. The position follows established procedures, performs routine tasks, and exercises independent judgment in non‑routine situations.

• Protect personnel and assets by maintaining physical security.
• Patrol assigned buildings and grounds to deter criminal acts.
• Monitor associate and visitor movements.
• Investigate and record reported incidents.
• Report safety and fire hazards observed during patrols and inspections.
• Verify employee and visitor parking decals and enforce parking.
• Provide nighttime associate escorts when requested.
• Assist motorists who become stranded on property (volunteer to change tires, jump‑start batteries, unlock doors).
• Respond to medical emergencies.
• Serve as member of fire control and emergency evacuation teams.
• Issue and assign building keys and security access cards.
• Assist with special events.
• Recommend additions or changes to security methods and procedures.
• Handle workplace threats (bombs, terrorism acts, etc.) following established protocols.
• Document and report security incidents accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Basic concepts and practices in corporate security.
• Security threats, trends, and emergency handling protocols.
• Incidents involving terrorism, bomb threats, fire safety, theft, sabotage, and workplace violence.
• Electronic security systems.
• Florida State Statutes relevant to security.
• Identification of dangerous substances and devices.
• Crowd management and control techniques.
• Life safety protocols and standards.
• Inspecting buildings and grounds for compliance.
• Responding to and investigating incidents.
• Monitoring arrivals and departures, maintaining logs.
• Controlling parking and traffic.
• Assisting with medical emergencies.
• Maintaining records of security activities.
• Using radio and telecommunications equipment.
• Performing routine inspections of buildings and grounds.
• Preparing and maintaining required documentation.
• Operating standard office equipment and software applications.

• Work outdoors in noise and stress conditions.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in law enforcement, military police, or related security field.
• OR equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Class D Security License or ability to obtain within 120 days.
• CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 180 days.
