Job SummarySeeking a Security Access Control Installation Technician to support construction projects by installing, terminating, and commissioning security, access control, voice/data, and other low‑voltage systems for our customers.
Responsibilities- Read blueprints of low voltage systems and determine how they relate to the building layout.
- Install components that make up the low voltage systems such as access control, antennas, video cameras, door contacts, etc.
- Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, etc., and feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, wall cavities, conduit, j‑hooks, bridle rings, etc.
- Mount and fasten control panels.
- Test and repair circuits and sensors by following wiring and system specifications.
- Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine material requirements and procedures under the supervision of a project manager or foreman.
- Test batteries, keypads, annunciators, and security features to ensure proper functioning and diagnose malfunctions.
- Acquire and maintain the required tools on the tool list.
- Learn to use fish tape, ohmmeters, power drills, and screwdrivers.
- Meet installation deadlines as described by the project manager or superintendent.
- Accurately track time daily via Exak Time.
- Comply fully with the company’s and customer’s safety program and policies.
- Comply with Dyna Fire’s policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Dyna Fire.
- Travel out of town if required.
- Learn to hand-program low voltage systems.
- Direct other installers if requested by a project manager or superintendent.
- Communicate effectively with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
- At least 3 years of installation experience in access control.
- Participate in required Dyna Fire-sponsored training.
- May be requested to share in service as a trainer in the Dyna Fire-sponsored training.
- Consider attending manufacturing training to become certified in a Dyna Fire low voltage system.
