Commercial HVAC Technician

Location: Clearwater–St. Petersburg, FL
Pay: $25–$45 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

One of the largest HVAC service companies on Florida’s Gulf Coast is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician to join its growing Clearwater–St. Petersburg team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and control-system issues
• Service rooftop units, package units, split systems, heat pumps, air handlers, and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and system start-ups
• Repair or replace compressors, motors, fans, controls, valves, electrical components, and other parts
• Recover, evacuate, charge, and test refrigeration systems
• Verify completed repairs and ensure safe, efficient equipment operation
• Explain equipment conditions and recommended solutions clearly to customers
• Complete service reports, work orders, and equipment documentation accurately
• Follow company safety procedures, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes
• Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas

Qualifications

• Previous commercial HVAC service and repair experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
• Working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, refrigeration, electrical systems, controls, and airflow
• EPA Section 608 certification
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Dependable, professional, and able to work independently
• Commitment to quality workmanship and job-site safety
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of commercial HVAC work
