Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Patient Certified MA works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Patient Care Certified MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients.

Qualifications- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent - Education Preferred:
Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program - Experience Preferred:
One year of applicable patient care experience or applicable medical office experience as defined by the clinic - Coworkers can be hired as a Certified Medical Assistant if they are a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant.
- Coworkers must actively maintain their certification, or they will be transitioned to the Medical Assistant title.
- Training:
New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training, must have completed all MA Competencies, and complete Advanced Standard Rooming with overall achievement ≥ 90% for the last 6 months including: AWV questionnaire and documentation, thorough medication reconciliation, closing all open care gaps as indicated in Encounter Guide (Fall Risk, Depression, Breast Cancer Screening, Colorectal Cancer Screening, and Diabetes Eye Exam), blood pressure recheck for patients with elevated initial blood pressure reading, completion of Patient Experience Conversation.
