Background  We are now seeking an experienced architectural draftsperson to work remotely for one of our Clients. An experienced architectural draftsperson or design architect in Australia prepares precise working and construction drawings from initial concepts, ensuring total compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.

Position Overview
Role:  Experienced Architectural Draftsperson / Project Architect

Location:

Remote/Virtual
Core Focus:  Turning preliminary sketches and design briefs into complete, permit-ready construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Sketch Interpretation:  Translate raw design concepts, hand-drawn notes, and schematic sketches into accurate digital models and drawings.
Documentation Lifecycle:  Produce comprehensive documentation packages, spanning preliminary sketches, development approval (DA) sets, building permit sets, and detailed construction drawings.
Code Compliance:  Apply a thorough, up-to-date working knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards to all structural and spatial layouts.
Consultant Coordination:  Liaise directly with structural engineers, building surveyors, certifiers, and local council authorities.
Technical Drafting:  Use industry-standard software (such as AutoCAD or Revit) to model floor plans, elevations, cross-sections, and detailed schedules.
Key Requirements

Qualifications:

Diploma of Building Design (CPP
50921), Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural) 22477

VIC, or a recognized Bachelor of Architecture/Design.

Experience:

Proven mid-to-senior level experience in an Australian architectural studio or construction firm.
Software Proficiency:  High-level fluency in CAD tools and Revit is mandatory. Ability to work in BIM
360 environments for coordinated Central Model design and documentation.
Regulatory Knowledge:  Demonstrated track record of securing local council approvals and preparing compliant documentation under Australian building frameworks.
