We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Accountant to join our client's team.
RequirementsThe Senior Accountant will perform some or all of the following key responsibilities based on business needs:
- Cost Management: Maintain and update cost roll-ups in the ERP system to ensure accurate inventory valuation and standard cost settings.
- Manufacturing Cost Analysis: Compare standard costs to actual production costs, analyze Bills of Material (BOM), and monitor material, labor, and overhead allocations. Perform purchase price variance analysis, reconcile discrepancies, and review manufacturing efficiencies, spending variances, product costs, inventory trends, and capacity utilization. Update and analyze product margins and cost variances.
- Inventory Control: Partner with Operations to assess inventory controls and oversee monthly cycle count programs to confirm inventory accuracy.
- Project Costing: Develop and maintain cost estimates for projects such as new product launches or revisions, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries and validate postings in the financial system during monthly close.
- General Ledger Oversight: Review daily accounting activities, including postings and sales analysis.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial packages, including income statements, balance sheets, and P&L analysis.
- Audit Support: Assist with year-end audit procedures, including preparing work papers and supporting physical inventory counts.
- Special Projects: Contribute to system upgrades, new reporting initiatives, and other ad hoc projects.
- Reporting & Analysis: Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; MAS
500 experience preferred. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements.
