Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring telemetry competency and neuro assessment skills.

• Work in a 32-bed Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg unit handling medical overflow
• Patient population includes scheduled orthopedic, neuro/surgical patients, fractures, and general medical overflow
• Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30 with every other weekend required
• Clinician to patient ratio is 1:5 or 1:6 on nights
• Floating to applicable units required as needed
• EPIC charting system is used in this unit
• Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care and telemetry monitoring to orthopedic, neuro, and medical overflow patients
• Team-based environment with both day and night teams supported by experienced staff
• Parking may not be validated; public parking and transportation options are available
• Holiday coverage may be required per unit needs
• RTO (requested time off) must be disclosed at time of initial consideration
• Local candidates within 60 miles of MGH in Boston will receive a modified rate
• No pending licenses accepted for this assignment
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccination are mandatory with no religious or medical exemptions

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration; MA Conditional licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Current BLS certification from AHA is required
• ACLS from AHA is preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Neuro assessment skills and telemetry competency required
• Proof of COVID-19 and Flu vaccination required with no exemptions allowed
• Two professional references required
