Project Manager and Operational Support Specialist – Transfer Technology

Salem State University seeks a skilled Project Manager for a two-year, temporary role leading the implementation and long-term institutional transition of a new transfer credit evaluation and recruitment technology. This position is grant‑funded and designed specifically to support the institution through implementation and handoff to permanent staff.

In Year 1, the Project Manager oversees system implementation, vendor coordination, business process mapping, testing, and end‑user training in collaboration with Enrollment Management, the Registrar’s Office / Transfer Services, Undergraduate Admissions, and Information Technology Services. In Year 2, the focus shifts to operational sustainability—optimizing the system, documenting processes, evaluating effectiveness, and guiding a structured transition of functional and technical responsibilities to permanent staff.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, this temporary role is ideal for a project manager who excels at cross‑functional collaboration and delivering sustainable operational outcomes with lasting institutional impact.

Please Note: This is a two‑year, grant‑funded position and continued employment is contingent upon ongoing grant funding.

Requirements
  • 1. Bachelor’s degree in information systems, education, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • 2. Two or more years of progressively responsible experience in project management, business systems analysis, or higher education technology implementation. Project management experience should be directly related to ERP systems.
  • 3. Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑phase projects and coordinate among multiple functional and technical areas.
  • 4. Experience working with enterprise systems (e.g., People Soft/Campus Solutions, transfer evaluation platforms or similar systems).
  • 5. Familiarity with standard project management tools, e.g., Jira, Trello, Microsoft Project or similar).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong data management and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
  • Direct experience with Oracle Campus Solutions as functional technical user or business analyst for records or admissions.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, APIs, or integration middleware concepts.
  • Familiarity with reporting and data visualization tools.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in functional technical support or system administration within a higher education context.
  • Understanding of the student lifecycle and student success technologies.
Working Location

This is a hybridpositionin Salem, MA with some on‑campus, in‑person responsibilities, which may require occasional work on evenings and weekends.
