Our gastroenterology practice is located at 55 Highland Avenue, Suite 101, Salem, MA. We diagnose and treat diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, colon, rectum, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and biliary tract. Endoscopy services are also provided at Salem Hospital and the collaborative gastroenterology practice in the Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care in Danvers, MA.
We are seeking a full‑time, 40‑hour Nurse Practitioner to support our practices onsite (Salem and Danvers) in a pod model. The main focus will be evaluation/management of outpatient GI patients with consults, follow‑ups, and sick/urgent visits. Desired schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 8 : 00 am – 5 : 00 pm. Anticipated split: 36 clinical/patient‑facing hours and 4 administrative hours.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate care plans, and ongoing evaluation. The NP may also perform additional duties such as precepting a small group of learners.

Essential Functions- Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and procedural settings.
- Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develops appropriate plans of care and follow‑up based on outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
- Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Consistently provides high‑quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
- Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
Education
Master's Degree in Nursing required. No substitution of experience for the degree.
Licences and Credentials
- Registered Nurse (RN) – State License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – State License (preferred)
Experience
2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience required.
