Assignment Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable ICU RN for a 13-week assignment at Salem Hospital, a Level III Trauma Center. This role is specifically for the Night Shift and requires a professional comfortable with high-acuity patient care as well as floating to Medical/Surgical units when needed.
- Schedule: 19:00 – 07:30 (Nights) | Every Other Weekend (EOW)
The Intensive Care Unit at Salem Hospital is a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) providing care for a diverse adult patient population.
- Common Diagnoses: Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, GI Bleed, DKA, Renal Failure, Cardiogenic Shock, and severe Psychiatric/Substance Abuse conditions.
- Support: Attendings and Residents are present on-unit 24/7.
- Ratios: * ICU: 1:1 or 1:2 (based on acuity).
- Floating: 1:4 or 1:5 (when supporting Med/Surg units).
- EMR: EPIC
- Experience:
* 3+ years of general ICU experience required.- 2+ years of continuous work experience in a single location (preferably a MICU).
- Proven competency in reading Telemetry strips .
- Licensure & Certifications:
* Active Massachusetts RN License.- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Floating Policy: Required. Must be willing to float to Medical/Surgical units (ratios up to 1:5).
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in a 20-bed MICU environment.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with the 24/7 on-site medical team (Residents/Attendings) to manage complex patient needs.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records using the EPIC system.
- Remain flexible to float to Med/Surg units to support hospital staffing needs as required.
