Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Telemetry position requiring an active MA license and proficiency in reading telemetry strips.

• Work in a 37-bed medical telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Care for patients with CHF, atrial fibrillation, pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, and those post-pacemaker or post-cardiac catheterization
• Patients may require management of Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, or Heparin drips
• Day and evening shift ratio is 1:4 (maximum
  5), night shift ratio is 1:5-6
• Rotating shifts with day, evening, and night rotations as needed
• Weekend shifts and floating to applicable units required
• Uses Epic EMR system; prior experience with Epic preferred
• Must be able to provide care for post-procedure cardiac patients
• Team includes a charge RN without patient assignment during weekdays
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions accepted
• Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility receive a reduced rate
• Parking is not validated; public parking and transportation options are available

• Active MA RN license is required; conditional licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required and must be AHA (American Heart Association)
• Ability to interpret and read telemetry strips is required
• Telemetry certification required
• Experience managing cardiac drips strongly preferred
