Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a rotating Emergency Department position requiring current MA licensure and AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Responsibilities- Work in a 65-bed, pod-based adult Emergency Department with a separate pediatric pod and acute mental health area
- Handles all patient populations with approximately 230 visits daily
- Clinician to patient ratio is 1:4
- Rotating schedule with day, evening, and night shifts; every other weekend required
- Floating to other units is required
- Utilizes Epic ASAP charting system
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations are required without exemption
- Scrub attire is required per hospital policy
- Proof of licensure must be submitted prior to start
- Must reside at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to qualify for the standard travel rate; local candidates within 60 miles will receive a reduced rate
- Holiday coverage may be required
- RTO (requested time off) must be declared at time of consideration
- Parking may require use of public lots or transportation with daily parking fees applicable; validated parking is not available
- Active MA RN license required at time of consideration; no conditional or pending licenses accepted
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience required
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required
- TNCC certification is strongly preferred
- NRP certification preferred
- Experience in general ED nursing skills such as assessment, documentation, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking and patient education
