American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a 36-hour rotating schedule requiring active MA RN licensure and tele strip interpretation skills.

• 37-bed Medical Telemetry unit admitting patients from the ED, transfers, or direct physician admission
• Patient population includes CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, Pneumonia, EtOH, and Dementia with cardiac co-morbidities, plus occasional surgical patients
• Manages patients on Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin drips, as well as NSTEMI, post-pacemaker, and post-cardiac cath lab patients
• RN to patient ratio is 1:4 (max
  5) on Day/Evening shifts and 1:5-6 on Nights
• Day shift includes a dedicated Charge RN without a patient assignment on weekdays
• 36 hours per week on a rotating schedule (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) with every other weekend required
• Night shift positions do not rotate
• Floating required to applicable units as needed
• Uses EPIC for charting

• Active MA RN license required (conditional/pending licenses not accepted)
• AHA BLS and ACLS certification required
• Telemetry certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in one location plus 2 years of travel RN experience required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips required
• Knowledge of cardiac drips required
• Experience with post-cardiac catheterization and post-pacemaker patient care preferred but not required
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

• Provide direct patient care on a busy medical telemetry unit including cardiac drip management and post-procedural monitoring
• Free on-site parking is available for this position
• Local candidates accepted with a 60-mile radius rule from the facility in Boston, at a reduced rate
