Due to continued growth, we are looking to add Pre-Sales Technical Consultants to be based out of our Salem, NH location.
As a member of the Pre Sales Engineering Team, the selected candidate will be responsible for working closely with assigned sales teams and clients, developing and executing strategies to drive business and delivering on WEI's overall value proposition.
A successful Technical Consultant should be able to present and explain various compute, storage, and network technologies to customers, design solutions consisting of hardware, software, and engineering services and translate solutions to the overall business value. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable presenting technology and solutions to all levels of the enterprise; IT administrators to CxO levels.
Responsibilities
Technical Consultants must have excellent business acumen and be able to effectively translate how designed solutions will help customers achieve their business objectives more effectively. Specific tasks include:
- Meet with customers and build technical relationships and assist in the overall sales process.
- Work with Account Manager/Sales Team to develop customer relationship and solutions.
- Create high-level solution designs/architecture and present to customers.
- Create presentations and other customer deliverables.
- Create configurations for solutions and assist with the quote building process.
- Build scope of work for professional services
- Work with delivery and fulfillment teams to ensure expectations are met.
- Assist in the delivery of POC's, installations and customer training.
- Work directly with OEM sales teams, technical counterparts, and product management.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on server, storage, network, and virtualization experience in datacenter environments, either in IT administration, production, or a presales role.
- Subject matter expertise in at least one of the above areas.
- Familiarity with the datacenter products portfolio from major IT manufacturers.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
- Some experience with Linux operating systems needed.
- Good networking skills
- Solid understanding of current virtualization technologies.
- Good understanding of orchestration and infrastructure automation technologies.
- A solution-oriented focus when determining a go to market technical strategy and an objective technical view of the OEM market leaders.
- Good understanding of current desktop, laptop, and tablet technologies in VDI and non-VDI environments.
- Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills with a strong service orientation focus.
- Strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills.
