Hunt Valve Company, powered by Fairbanks Morse Defense has manufactured valves for the defense and industrial industries for decades and is a trusted provider of specialized, severe-duty valves. Due to the stringent technical and quality requirements in which HVC’s products must satisfy, our manufacturing facility requires a robust Quality Assurance organization. We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to build upon this reputation with an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • General Quality Organization Support
    • Issuing and enforcing resolution of Corrective Actions
    • Documentation over checks to ensure adherence to key quality requirements
    • Review of contracts (customer PO, associated HVC bills of material, part specifications, etc.) for inclusion and adequacy with respect to quality
  • Management/Maintenance of HVC’s approved vendor list
  • Perform quality system audits of suppliers
  • Assist in the issuance of quarterly supplier scorecards
  • Training
    • Provide general oversight for company-wide training records
    • Report-outs to various departments to support compliance with training requirements
    • Participation in procedure development and revisions of existing procedures
  • Active identification of opportunities for improvement across all day-to-day work activities
  • Management of specific tasks assigned as part of improvement projects

Qualification &

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and flexible
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, higher stress environment
  • Ability to follow procedures, work instructions & standard work
  • Must be able to self-organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to evaluate a situation and provide a prompt assessment
  • Willingness to defend positions in the face of schedule pressures or other reasonable challenges
  • Must be adaptable, flexible professional who embraces teamwork and can work independently

Experience Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of a comparable quality system to MIL-I-45208 or ISO 9001
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of software (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.)
  • 5-10+ years working in a Quality Assurance role

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in applicable technical field preferred

This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
