Position: Full Time Radiologic/CT Technologist RT(R)(CT) - CT preferred, but not required.

Department: Medical Imaging/CT

Shift: Various

PURPOSE

The primary purpose of your job position as a CT/Radiographer in the Medical Imaging Department is to perform assigned duties effectively, following established policies and procedures, and as directed by your supervisor to ensure a successful and viable department at all times.

Working under the direction of the Director of Medical Imaging and the Medical Imaging Supervisors, performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Must care for a patient population including adolescents and geriatrics; therefore, must identify and respond appropriately to the specific needs of each patient according to age. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Verification of successful graduation from an AMA-accredited radiography program and certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • CT registry eligible required; CT registered preferable.
  • Verification of Ohio State Radiological License.
  • Completion of general orientation and safety programs.
  • Ability to reach full productivity within 60 working days.
  • Complete understanding of all CT/radiological procedures, sterile techniques, and some nursing skills.
  • Basic knowledge of how an Imaging Department functions.
  • Good knowledge of how a CT department operates.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Understanding of image processing and clerical procedures.
  • Ability to work with long-term and acute care patients.
  • Effective and efficient functioning in emergencies.
  • Ability to make quick decisions when necessary.
