We are excited to be adding a welder to the MAC Trailer Team. Our welder position utilizes and implements acquired welding knowledge, experience, and skill to weld aluminum and steel material and manufacturing parts and products for the tractor trailer industry.

Shift hours:
Monday–Friday 6:30 am–4:30 pm with additional overtime.

Wage Range: $21.50 – $28.25 per hour.

Summary What you will do

Utilize and implement acquired welding knowledge, experience, and skill to weld aluminum and steel materials and manufacturing parts and products for the tractor trailer industry.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform daily custom build fit-up welding assignments according to quality and safety standards.
  • Review and interpret specification documentation and drawings while following verbal instructions for safe and efficient product build.
  • Communicate safety and build concerns to supervisors and managers.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient work area, monitoring material needs and inventory.
  • Use power hand tools (including hand crane) to prepare materials before welding.
  • Don and doff required safety equipment as per department needs (e.g., face shield, weld hood, respirator, filtered face-piece, weld gloves).
  • Organize and restock parts and materials in the work area.
  • Assist in any area of assignment or when needed to complete product, including plumbing, mounting, assembly, wiring.
  • May be required to obtain proficiency in steel and/or aluminum MIG welding.
Who You Are Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience
  • Demonstrate successful completion of company weld testing process.
  • Show ability to learn basic math and measurement functions.
  • Interpret and understand verbal and written communication related to production and safety.
  • Work individually or as part of a team.
  • Increase product knowledge and skill level related to area of assignment.
  • Aptitude to obtain mechanical proficiency.
  • Experience or knowledge in tractor trailer building or service & repair is preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or a mechanical related field is preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Working in and out of position may vary by department.
  • Manual dexterity required to perform primary job functions, grasp and manipulate objects of various sizes.
  • May be required to lift over 50 lb but less than 100 lb and push/pull with arms and hands/tools.
  • May need to work from a ladder or from heights using fall protection.
  • Exposure to dust and noise typical of industrial environments.
TIER LEVEL
  • Tier I:
    Entry level, under direct supervision while learning skills and duties.
  • Tier II:
    Developed skills, with supervisor checking quality.
  • Tier III:
    Mastery of skills, minimal supervision, trains lower-level tiers.
