Position Title: Administrative Specialist 1 – NICS Act Record Improvement Program (NARIP)
The Oregon State Police is hiring one Administrative Specialist 1 for the NICS Act Record Improvement Program (NARIP). In this role you will support the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division by updating and interpreting Oregon criminal records. You will partner with circuit, district, municipal courts and law‑enforcement agencies to access and retrieve database records, train courts and offices in the use of the EJSM program within LEDS 2020 or WebLEDS software, and create or update training materials.
Your work will support the NARIP grant program, the Firearms Unit, and the Computerized Criminal History Unit (CCH). You will also manage entry, modification, and deletion of criminal history data to ensure accurate information is available in LEDS for other criminal‑justice agencies.
- Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, document generation, and data sorting.
- OR an associate degree in general office occupations and one year of related experience.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Rapid adaptation to changing priorities and problem‑solving strategies.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and work independently.
- Research skills to gather, analyze, and present accurate information to support decision‑making and case management.
- Ability to provide credible sworn testimony in a criminal or civil proceeding related to job duties.
- Must be LEDS certified or be able to obtain certification upon hire.
