Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Forensic)/Chief of Psychiatry

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) Forensic/Chief of Psychiatry represents the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office to provide executive leadership with a cross-discipline clinical lens, focusing on patient safety, quality of care, critical incident review, utilization review, and use of technology solutions in patient care, with an emphasis on maintaining standard work and alignment in practices across the Salem and Junction City campuses.

The DCMO directly oversees the operations of Psychiatry, Admissions, Program Services and Forensic Evaluation Services (FES) Departments. The DCMO also serves as an executive sponsor for process improvement projects impacting clinical work and assists the CMO to establish equitable, inclusive, and trauma-informed patient treatment and workplace practices, including Collaborative Problem Solving.

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Unencumbered license to practice medicine in the State of Oregon
    , or the ability to obtain one by the time of appointment.
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry by the (ABPN), or the ability to obtain certification within required timelines.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical, hospital, or behavioral health setting, including oversight of multidisciplinary teams, clinical operations, or program administration.
Desired Attributes:
  • Must possess an unencumbered medical license for the State of Oregon.
  • Must be board certified or board eligible in psychiatry.
  • Must have a valid Oregon driver's license or alternate means of transportation to travel to the Junction City campus.
  • Must be able to flex hours or work additional shifts when necessary to complete time sensitive projects or ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
