Position Overview
Title: Preschool / Outreach Teacher – Oregon School for the Deaf
LocationOregon School for the Deaf, Salem, Oregon
CompensationSalary: $53,712 – $100,608 (based on education and experience)
Differentials: Special Education – 5% above base rate
ASL Bilingual – 5% above base rate
- Oregon Teaching License/Certificate for teaching deaf/hard‑of‑hearing students or ability to obtain it by start date.
- ASL proficiency of 2nd level or better upon hire; certification required within 12 weeks.
- Prepare students for higher education or the workforce through tailored services and instruction.
- Provide instruction and support tailored to each student’s individual needs, fostering skill development.
- Supervise students during special activities.
- Work with students facing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Occasionally train teaching assistants, volunteers, college practicum students, or student teachers.
