Who We Are

Salem Academy Charter School (SACS) is a nationally ranked urban charter school north of Boston, MA, offering a rigorous college‑preparatory program to nearly 500 students in grades 6‑12. Established in 2004, SACS has been committed to serving the diverse population of Salem. Through a unique integration of rigorous college‑preparatory classes with service to the community, SACS graduates informed, articulate, and proactive individuals of strong character.

• Working with and for Students:
  Supporting students in the classroom depending upon their IEPs and instructional needs.
• Implementing consistent academic and behavioral procedures to ensure a structured, respectful, and achievement‑oriented environment across classrooms.
• Monitoring and analyzing student progress through standards‑based assessments.
• Supporting planning and/or co‑leading Service‑Learning projects.
• Collaborating with Special Education, General Education, and ELD teachers to support students with diverse learning needs.
• Building and maintaining a strong school culture centered on achievement.
• Tracking academic and behavioral data.
• Participating in weekly professional development sessions (e.g., Curriculum Teams workshops).
• Participating in weekly Form Meetings (e.g., grade level teams).

• You understand the importance of culturally responsive education and are committed to learning more.
• You are committed to standards‑based teaching and unapologetically focused on student work to build student‑centered learning.
• You respond reactively and proactively to the academic and social‑emotional needs of students.
• You have a proven track record of supporting all students and their unique learning needs and demonstrate a relentless commitment to collaborating to improve outcomes.

• School diploma required.
• Associate degree or 48 college credit hours, or a passing score on the Paraproficient.
• Background clearance.
• Preference given to candidates who are multilingual (Spanish and English), have life experiences similar to our students, are excited about integrating academics with service, and have an interest in improving instruction for all.
